Helga has been an active board member with CAVEWAS for 10 years. She has served as Treasurer, Secretary, President and currently serves as the Past President of the Society. Helga is a professional member of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association Canada, holding the Registered Rehabilitation Professional designation (RRP).

She is currently employed with VCCS Employment Services in Lindsay Ontario. She is a career change individual who has worked in a variety of employment sectors and returned to college and graduated from the three-year Employment Counseling Program at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough where she studied various aspects of vocational evaluation, employment and career counseling. She has worked in Employment Services sector since 1991 and obtained her CVE designation in 1997. In 2006 she completed her B.A. Psych through distance ed at University of Waterloo.
