Welcome to the Official CAVEWAS Web site!

The CAVEWAS National Board of Directors is very pleased to introduce you to our web site.

  2011 CAVEWAS Pre-Conference

Our pre-conference session on June 21, 2011 at the Delta Regina Hotel in beautiful Regina, Saskatchewan was an outstanding event.  Lou Charlebois facilitated our workshop this year. The title of his workshop was The Impact of Essential Skills: on our Economy and our Way of Life - We must do Better!  The government of Canada has conducted extensive research on the Essential Skills needed for work, learning and life. Essential Skills provide the foundation for learning all other skills and enable people to evolve with their jobs and adapt to workplace change. Lou introduced the TOWES (Test Of Workplace Essential Skills) which offers a valid, reliable and effective tool for those looking to assess Essential Skills.

If it isn't on your radar yet, it should be! This tool is Canadian and will be available in an on-line format in the near future. Over 350 Essential Skills profiles have been developed and cross referenced with NOC codes. It was a great session and Look for our next Pre-conference in 2012.
