      RVP - Registered Vocational Professional

The RVP designation was developed as a joint CAVEWAS/VRAC initiative to recognize those individuals who provide vocational/employment services within the rehabilitation field. The designation is designed for those individuals providing services as vocational/employment counselors, job placement and job development specialists, supported employment counselors/ coordinators, return-to-work coordinators, transition specialists, administer pre-employment/job readiness programs, and those who direct/manage/supervise individuals providing vocational/employment services.

The knowledge domain for the RVP is based on academic knowledge for applicants with a diploma or degree. Membership is open to anyone working in the field of vocational services and to those who are interested in furthering the cause of the Society.

  s   CCWAVES Appointment

Congratulations and heart-felt thanks to Kim MacIsaac from the CAVEWAS Board of Directors.

Kim has very kindly agreed to carry on with her role of CAVEWAS Representative to CCWAVES (The Commission on Certification of Work Adjustment and Vocational Evaluation Specialists). This is the Commission that awards and oversees the CVE designation (Certified Vocational Evaluator). She was recently re-appointed by the CAVEWAS Board in this capacity, effective as of July 31, 2006. This is a 5 year assignment.  Kim puts in many hours in this role, often having to travel from her home in Edmonton to Chicago, Ill., where the Commission is located.  In this capacity Kim is also an active member of both the CARP National Board of Directors and the CARP National Executive Committee. Kim’s dedication to these many roles is very much appreciated.

Graham Pett, CAVEWAS Past-President
